Prince George's Police Officer Struck; 2 Men Wounded By Gunfire

CLINTON, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say an officer was struck by a car during an encounter with a two men suspected of forcing their way into a home.

Police say two officers fired at the car as it drove toward the officer who was hit and sped away. Both men inside the car were wounded by gunfire and were taken to different hospitals for treatment. The officer is expected to make a full recovery.

The encounter happened on Saturday afternoon in Clinton. Police believe one of the men had previously been in a relationship with the woman who lives in the home.

Police say the driver of the vehicle will face charges including first-degree assault, while both men will face charges related to breaking and entering.
