Overall, not a terrible start to your Tuesday morning. The word for the day is improvement!
Tuesday’s weather will feature increasing sunshine and milder temperatures than what we saw Monday. We are already starting the morning off on a milder note than we did this time Monday with many spots dealing with some thick fog.
The current surface map shows a cold front draped across the Appalachian mountains.
This front will be passing through Tuesday as winds shift out of the west to filter in drier conditions.
Winds are expected to pick up with the passage of the front between 10 mph and 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
Highs Tuesday will reach into the mid 60s for most areas. Clouds will continue to decrease overnight with lows near 40.
The high temperature Wednesday will be somewhat cooler than our high Tuesday due to an upper-level trough swinging through.
Starting Thursday, an extended period of highs in the 70s is forecast for the region.
