Zach Britton Joined Scott And Jeremy

Orioles pitcher Zach Britton joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn on Wednesday after the Orioles defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in an afternoon event, 3-0. Britton continued his flawless season to date, he pitched 3 innings only allowed 2 hits, and his ERA still sits at 0.00.

Scott asked Zach about getting out of a tight squeeze in Wednesdays game, and he said it's all about being aggressive. "It started with the walk and a hit the other way and sometimes it's easy to let it kind of unfold a bit and have a big inning. So I just focused on being aggressive, it's a challenging match-up."

Zach has been very successful out of the bullpen this year, not allowing a run in an appearance yet. Jeremy simply put it, what has changed since last year. "I think it was a lot of things. Experience helps, health, confidence all of those things go together. So it's not just one little thing but throwing the ball well gives you confidence."

And finally, the guys wanted to know what it's like being a pitcher, similar to Brian Matusz, who didn't work out as a starter and made the transition to the bullpen. "It's great; they are a great group of guys. As a starter you have no interaction with the bullpen guys, but you appreciate those guys. And now I'm starting to come in and get guys out of the pen, it's a tough thing."
