Teen Charged In Shooting Of Vehicle

CASCADE, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a 17-year-old Cascade boy shot a vehicle in the rural mountain town, but the driver and his two young children weren't hurt.

The agency says the teen was arrested at home after a motorist reported his vehicle was shot by a man standing in the road Wednesday night.

The teen is charged as an adult with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and other offenses. He was being held without bail Thursday pending an afternoon bond review. The Associated Press generally doesn't identify juvenile defendants.

The sheriff's office says the teen told investigators he fired a .22-caliber rifle at a number of vehicles that he thought were trying to run him over.
