NBA Champion with the 1978 Washington Bullets, Phil Chenier joins Ed and Steve to talk about the unlikely playoff run that the Wizards are currently on. Coming in as heavy underdogs, The Wizards just beat the Chicago Bulls 4-1 in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
Phil says that the back court of John Wall and Bradley Beal have grown so much especially over the last 7 weeks or so. The whole team is just growing and clicking at the perfect time and if someone is struggling their teammates pick them up. Like Nene said last night “The sky is the limit”.
Steve mentions how Marcin Gortat got so many clutch rebounds at the end of the game to kill over a minute of clock while the Wizards had a 3 point lead. Phil reiterated that the team is really growing before our eyes. The Wizards have really come alive on the road and had one of the best records on the road this season. The Wizards didn’t want to let the Bulls hang around in regards to wins and games and the Wizards played desperate just as much as the Bulls did.
