Idan Ravin, author of the “The Hoops Whisperer” and basketball trainer to many of the stars in the NBA including, Carmelo Anthony, Stephen Curry and Dwight Howard.

As a kid, Ravin took hold of the game and never let it go. “I taught myself the game in every way I could,” Ravin said.

Ravin works with Washington Wizards small forward and shooting guard Trevor Ariza.

“Ive always been a big fan of Ariza,” Ravin said. I’m making sure that he still loves the game. He’s not just a role player, he can be a star.”

Ravin said he’s recognized not everyone learns the same way and everyone would be OK if people were a little more supportive.

“I’ve taught my guys to shut down the criticism,” Ravin said.

Ravin said Stephen Curry is remarkable compared to anyone else in the game. Ravin worked with Curry prior to the draft on how to be more efficient in the NBA.

“He’s a future Hall of Famer and is going to change the game,” Ravin said.

When people ask Ravin how he does it, his answer is one step at a time.
