Horseshoe Casino Gets New Celebrity Chef Restaurant

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A famous chef brings his talents to Baltimore. He'll open a restaurant inside the new Horseshoe Casino, which is still under construction.

Jessica Kartalija has details on the new dining experience.

In just a few months, Baltimore City will have its first casino, complete with celebrity chef-inspired cuisine.

Celebrity Chef Aaron Sanchez from the Food Network show "Chopped" is opening a 220-seat taqueria restaurant with Chef John Besh.

"It's really exciting to be down here," Sanchez said.

Now there's another big addition with another celebrity chef.

"The cool thing about Baltimore is people really enjoy food up there. It's really an environment and the fans are loyal to their sports, the fans are loyal to their area," said Guy Fieri.

That's right. The host of the famous "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" will open a restaurant in his name: Guy Fieri's Baltimore Kitchen and Bar.

"To have someone, to have a household name like Guy Fieri--a great celebrity, a great culinarian--to come in and have a great culinary experience is going to be a wonderful opportunity for us," said Horseshoe Casino Vice President Alex Dixon.

Fieri says he looks forward to opening his own restaurant in Charm City.

"Really cool staff, really cool environment, great food, a lot of sharing food, a lot of hands-on, scratch made, great drinks, loud music," he said. "Bring the family. Just a really cool hang."

Guy Fieri's restaurant, as well as the other new restaurants will open in the beginning of the fall.

The restaurant will hire some 200 employees. Applications can be found here.
