Woman Gives Birth On I-270 Before Morning Rush

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Montgomery County woman has given birth to a baby along Interstate-270.

Montgomery County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says the woman gave birth about 6 a.m. Friday near Middlebrook Road. The father delivered the baby, and first responders helped.

Piringer says mom and baby are doing fine. They were taken to a hospital.
