WEATHER BLOG: Nice Sunday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. South wind 8 to 10 mph. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50.

High pressure will slide eastward into the Atlantic Ocean which will help shift our winds out of the south and provide more mixing to allow temperatures to reach the middle 80s. A storm complex over Kansas currently will move east across the country and into the western part of the Mid-Atlantic by Sunday afternoon. The system will remain to our west during the day so we will not see any precipitation. But clouds will start to increase in the afternoon ahead of that storm system. Depending on the track of this system it could move into our region Sunday night.
