Bowie Baysox Head Coach Gary Kendall Joined Scott And Jeremy To Talk About Bowie Baysox And The Orioles

Bowie Baysox Head Coach Gary Kendall joined Scott and Jeremy to talk about Bowie Baysox and the Orioles.

Scott and Ken Weinman spoke with Gary Kendall, manager of Orioles AA affiliate Bowie Baysox, this past Monday to talk baseball both at the major league level and in the minors.

When talking about first baseman Christian Walker's development since being drafted by the Orioles in round four of the 2012 draft, Gary said "Ever since I met him a couple years back, he's really worked at his craft, not just offensively, but defensively. … He really came up with a good gameplan, his pregame, to work on his throwing, the aspect of starting a double play, whether it be picks in the dirt, and his overall knowledge of the position."

On Manny's time in AA: "When Manny was here, he was a guy you really only had to tell something to him once. He was a guy that made adjustments pitch to pitch, which all good hitters have to do. I remember one of the things Bobby Dickerson worked really hard on him was never taking a pitch off defensively, because he felt, and we as an organization felt, that when he got into a little bit of a funk defensively, whether it was a careless throwing error or a glove error, it was basically because he wasn't focusing pitch to pitch."
