Very Superstitious! It's A Full Moon Friday The 13th

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—It last happened in the year 2000. If you're superstitious, Friday night is a double whammy.

Mike Schuh reports it's a full moon and Friday the 13th.

If you're superstitious, Friday is your day. We get to combine two, maybe three different superstitions into this day.

Apparently, we in Baltimore are a pretty superstitious lot.

A survey by a beer company shows Ravens fans to be the most superstitious of any fans.

This Friday the 13th, we're mashing together two phobias into one superstition. Selenophobia, or the fear of the moon, combines with triskaidekaphobia. That's the fear of the number 13.

Julia McCarthy isn't buying this full moon superstition stuff.

"Really? Better watch out for werewolves," she said sarcastically.

At 94, Norman Cook says he's managed to survive seven full moon, Friday the 13ths by behaving normally.

"I don't think about Friday the 13th," he said. "I never do."

"I don't believe in that stuff," said Alice Fuller, of Hampden. "Not at all. Except for the Ravens."

That's right. She says she's only superstitious about the Ravens.

"Me and my sister and some women get together, and we can't wear nothing with any Ravens logo on it the day of the game," Fuller said.

You're going to have to be patient for the next full moon Friday the 13th. It's not until 2049.
