Steve Mewleski joins Scott and Jeremy on 105.7 The Fan with Orioles talk.
First words were about The Deputy, Chris Davis. Melewski says he “is not hot or out of slump now but Orioles will take the grand slam.” It was actually a pretty short homer for The Deputy.
As for JJ Hardy no homeruns for him. He actually has had about 17 errors in the past 14 games and zero RBI’s in the past 10-12 games, as well. This is not the J.J Hardy we are used to though, although he is usually a big contribute for the Orioles.
They guys touch on the topic of Matt Wieters and speculate on when the Orioles can expect him to be back next year.
In the minor leagues we have a couple of Delmarva all-stars with at least seven going to the all-star game. This includes Hunter Harvey who started and pitched a scoreless game.
Mike Yastrzemski did not make America’s top 20 prospects but has changed what he looks like now. Melewski, big fan of the 23 year old, says he is “savvy and smart.” Mike’s father played AAA and his grandfather was an all-star player. Mike was not drafted his junior year, like normal players. He was drafted his senior year. Melewski says he “understands the grind and has his head on right.” Someone to keep watching is definitely Mike Yastrzemski.
