DeAntae Prince, a writer for Sporting News, joins Travis and Jeremy on the Scott Garceau show to discuss the likelihood of Kevin Durant signing with the Wizards, as well as a possible Wiggins and Kevin Love trade.
With the dust settling on LeBron’s shocking move to return to the Cavaliers, people are beginning to speculate on how much power James has in terms of making roster adjustments.
The latest reports surrounding Cleveland suggest that the front office is now willing to trade rookie sensation Andrew Wiggins for Minnesota’s Kevin Love. A quick turn from where they stood just last week.
“I think that trade would be smart for Cleveland in terms of winning. Defensive rebounding is highly important in today’s game, and Love gives you that,” said Prince.
As for moves made elsewhere in the NBA, Prince was most impressed with a team that normally doesn’t get a lot of publicity.
“I was impressed with Dallas, especially now that they have Jason Terry back,” said Prince. The most impressive part wasn’t necessarily the players they secured, but the sacrifice Dirk made was nice.”
Though most moves for this summer are complete, it’s the future that has people anticipating Kevin Durant’s free agency decision. Some local media members have noted the Washington Wizards as a possible destination. That rumor has heated up after Washington signed Durant’s former assistant coach to their staff.
“I think the fact that they hired his former assistant coach shows that they’ll at least make a play for him. Why not, right? If LeBron is willing to go home, maybe Durant is as well,” Prince said.
