FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Law enforcement and Army officials at Fort Detrick are working to raise awareness about terrorism threats.

Local media partners reported that their efforts are part of the annual Anti-terrorism Awareness Month. It was designated by the Department of the Army as an educational tool for military communities.

Richard King, anti-terrorism officer at Fort Detrick, says one of the goals is to encourage employees and residents to report suspicious items, such as an unattended bag.

Anti-terrorism Awareness Month began in 2011. It promotes iWatch, an Army program to encourage people to identify and report suspicious behavior that may be related to terrorist activities.
