BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Police say one man was set on fire and another shot in the head as violence erupted overnight in Baltimore City–leaving two dead and one injured in three separate incidents.

The first incident occurred Thursday night. At around 10:21 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to an area hospital for a walk-in shooting victim. The adult male victim was being treated for a gunshot wound to his thigh. The victim told officers that he was walking through the 1400-block of E. Monument Street when three suspects approached him in what appeared to be a robbery. During the incident one of the suspects produced a handgun and fired a single shot into the victim’s thigh. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 410-396-2433.

A man was fatally shot in the head early Friday morning. Just after 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 2000-block of Linden Avenue.  When officers arrived they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 1:50 a.m. Friday, officers were called to 4201 Shamrock Avenue for a report of a body on fire. Officers and the fire department responded to the location and found an adult male. who was pronounced dead at the scene. A preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was involved in an altercation inside of a dwelling and he was later found outside where he had been set on fire. Detectives are interviewing a person of interest at this time.

Homicide detectives are investigating both fatal incidents and they are asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2100.
