Steve Davis: Orioles Bullpen, Defense Wows 'Em Again
This Orioles bullpen is really something special right now. Chen only gave 4 2/3 Tuesday night. He was okay, giving up 2 runs.
Then, the bullpen....NADA! Brach gets out of a bases loaded jam with no runs. He hasn't give up a run in 11 straight appearances. Hunter came in and did a good job again. Miller mowed them down in the 8th. In 10 appearances since being traded here, he has given up just one run. Britton was great again in the 9th, notching his 13th consecutive save.
While we're passing out accolades, how about the defense?! Jones throws out a runner for the second straight night. He may not win the MVP, but he is a top 5 candidate.
Caleb Joseph made 2 outstanding plays snaring throws at the plate, one from Jones and one from Davis.
Speaking of Davis, he might have been anemic at the plate again, but he has a rocket arm. Pearce bailed out Hardy on a couple of throws at first. Delmon Young's defense...... ok let's end the blog there.
