UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker is leading a trade mission to China next week.
The Washington Post reports Baker is hoping to attract foreign investment for his ambitious economic development plans for the county.
It’s a nine-day trip. The Prince George’s delegation will visit Beijing and Shanghai. It also will participate in a conference in Xiamen that thousands of foreign investors are expected to attend.
Baker administration officials hope to attract at least a few of those investors to put money into Prince George’s County projects.
The delegation leaves Wednesday.
