Jerry Coleman Was On The Ravens Beat Tuesday

Jerry Coleman was on the Raven beat on Tuesday and gave Scott and Jeremy, who were joined in studio by Jason La Canfora, an update on the team leading up to Baltimore's first game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Steve Smith will be making his debut in a Ravens uniform this Sunday afternoon; Scott asked the lantern how amped up is the veteran wide out. "He's really juiced up to go against Adam Jones, especially in front of the hometown crowd for the first time. With these new NFL rules it really benefits the receiver. That's advantage Steve Smith in my opinion in that department. That will be interesting and it will be physical, so If Adam 'Pacman' Jones gets a little to physical the yellow flag will come out of the back pocket."

After suffering a concussion in the preseason, running back Bernard Pierce will be facing questions as to if he can be a three down back. Scott asked Jerry if there has been any solution to the running back situation. "Coach Harbaugh wouldn't reveal that, Lorenzo Taliaferro is there in the mix as well. He's a guy I think could take one (carry). Apparently Bernard is healthy because he will be on the podium speaking tomorrow."

After the final rosters were announced the Ravens managed to resign a lot of the cuts to their practice squad. Jeremy asked Jerry if the team were excited to get any players back. Coleman doesn't think they were overly excited. "No, none in particular. If they were they wouldn't gush about it so no one in particular. I do think it's an indictment on the offensive line that you had a couple of members who are no longer with the team in Ryan Jensen and AQ Shipley."
