A Stolen Car Flips And Kills One Man In Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ)-- Police say one man is dead and another is injured after a stolen car hit a curb and flipped onto a guard rail in Glen Burnie.

At around 3:40 a.m. on Thursday morning, a 2008 Ford Fusion was traveling south on East Furnace Branch Road at a high rate of speed when the driver struck the curb. After striking the curb the car overturned onto a guardrail and slid onto its roof for 150 feet before coming to rest.

Edward Hanvey, 18, was the driver of the vehicle and fled the scene of the crash on foot. He was later found walking north along Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and was transported to an area hospital where he was treated an released.

The front passenger Jeffrey Clary, 23, sustained multiple injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time neither drugs or alcohol are considered to be contributing factors.  The vehicle had been reported stolen from Baltimore City prior to the collision. The investigation into the collision continues and charges against the driver are pending.
