WEATHER BLOG: Cooldown Ahead

Other than clouds and a little spotty drizzle (mainly east) the coastal storm has pretty much been a non-event for our area. We've stayed mostly rain-free in central Maryland… but we've really been socked in under the clouds throughout the day. Cloud cover will be on the decrease tomorrow as high pressure briefly takes control. Our next area of focus will then be out west with an approaching cold front. Out ahead of the front, we will start to warm up. By Thursday, our highs will be nearing 90°. We will also run the risk of showers and t-storms, mainly Thursday afternoon & evening. The warm and humid air will help to fuel thunderstorm activity bringing the risk of heavy downpours, gusty winds and hail. We'll be fine-tuning the forecast with each and every model run as we know many of you will be attending the football game Thursday night.
