Jeremy Conn: Chris Davis - He Gone
I actually heard the news late last night from a reliable source, but I didnt want to believe it was true. I'm not here to beat up Chris Davis and in my mind it doesn't put into question any of his success in the majors. He was busted for amphetamines, which is a banned substance, but its NOT a performing enhancing drug (PED). He gets a 25 game suspension and not the 50 game suspension that would come with a positive test for a PED.
Chris Davis had an exemption last year to use Adderall, but he was denied this year to get the exemption. He has to be smarter than that to take it, but there are a lot of people that believe it shouldn't even be a banned substance in the league. In the past players commonly used "Greenies" or Speed in the clubhouse. They were widely used and accepted.
I'm not here to defend Chris Davis because this is stupidity on his part and the Orioles will be missing a big part of the team moving forward. No Machado, No Weiters. Now no Chris Davis. I guess we will have to ride that unproven pitching staff moving forward. I'm totally confident in this team and very disappointed in "the Deputy."
