Albino Deer Slain In Western Maryland Cemetery

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Natural Resources Police say they're investigating the bow-and-arrow killing of an albino white-tailed deer in a Hagerstown cemetery.

Spokeswoman Candy Thomson said Wednesday that officers have questioned two male juveniles and a 20-year-old man about the incident.

She says officers responding to a call on the night of Sept. 11 found the boys and the dead deer at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Thomson says the officers have confiscated two compound bows and two crossbows.

She says they will refer the boys' cases to the state Department of Juvenile Services.

Cemetery Executive Director Nathan Nardi tells The Herald-Mail newspaper that the property is also home to another albino deer. He says many people visit the cemetery to see the deer.
