Jeremy Conn: ALCS Prediction
It's the match-up that no one expected and the Television companies didn't want. Either the Kansas City Royals or the Baltimore Orioles will be playing for a World Series. Two small market teams that haven't been to the World Series since the Early to Mid 1980's.
The Orioles hit the most home runs in baseball and stole the least amount of bases throughout the course of this season. The Orioles have a great bullpen and have surprisingly gotten great starting pitching. Defensively, they are one of the best teams in baseball and in my humble opinion, they have the best Manager in baseball.
The Royals hit the least amount of home runs and stole the most bases in baseball. They also have a very solid defense and one of the best bullpens in baseball. They are a very scrappy team and have been on fire in the post season. Manager Ned Yost has made some questionable decisions but everything has worked out so far for them.
I believe the Orioles win this series in 6 games. We have a huge advantage in my opinion, with Buck Showalter over Ned Yost. Caleb Joseph and the pitching staff will limit the speed on the base paths for the Royals. Adam Jones will have a huge series defensively and especially with his bat. The Orioles starting pitching is a little bit better and I think that will show in this series.
