Arrest Warrant Issued For Suspect In BB Gun Assault Outside Hereford High

PARKTON, Md. (WJZ) --Baltimore County Police say a man in his 50s was assaulted with a BB gun on the parking lot of Hereford High School. Now an arrest warrant has been issued for his ex-wife's 24-year-old boyfriend.

Students were still on campus when police say they responded to a report of a shooting Wednesday night at the high school in the 17300 block of York Road.

Officers learned that the victim, a man in his 50s, had been arguing with his ex-wife in a parking lot outside the Parkton school.

"The ex-wife's boyfriend approached him, struck him in the face with a BB or pellet gun, and then fired several shots into his face point blank," said Cpl. John Wachter, Baltimore County police.

Police say the woman's boyfriend, Ernesto Alexander Piche, then drove off in his girlfriend's car, hitting a car before driving into a tree and fleeing on foot. Police believe he may have been injured when he crashed his girlfriend's car into a tree on Belfast Road.

Officers are now searching for Piche, of  the 19900 block of Gunpowder Road in Manchester, Md. An arrest warrant charges him with first-degree assault, motor vehicle theft and related charges.

Detectives say people know him as "Alex."

Anyone with information on Piche's whereabouts should call Baltimore County Police at t 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital and is expected to survive; he has a child that attends Hereford High School.
