Eye On the Enemy: Game 3 Preview

Eye On the Enemy: Game 3 Preview

Steve Stewart, from Kansas City Play by Play, joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Femi to talk about the match up tonight. Talking about what the weather is on the forefront for tonight's game.  Stewart says he "just pulled in the stadium and there is a light rain.  It's supposed to get heavier this evening… very light right now but who the heck knows."

When asking how the team is doing, they talked about how much Alex Gordon has added to the team,   "Gordon is the closest thing we have to a local star.  He grew up in Lincoln, he came down here as a kid and watched.  He is a hard working.  He does a lot of things quite well."
Talking about the team as a whole, they talked about the hitting in the post season.   Stewart saw the Royals in spring training and said they did well but "this is the kind of team they need to be, it's just taken awhile to get there."

Femi stated there was another player on the Royals everyone is talking about, Lorenzo Cain. He noted his amazing 8 foot wing span and asked what kind of guy he really is.  He's a great story, as he didn't start playing baseball until his sophomore year in high school.   Stewart says there is "still some on the job training going on."  He is an asset to the Royals and health is the big issue with Cain.  If he can stay healthy, he will be good.   "He is a 45 min stretch guy, before the team even starts warming up."  This is the process he has to do to stay strong and healthy.  "By staying healthy he has been able to show what he's got.  They have played him as much as possible."
Jarrod Dyson has recently made comments regarding his feeling on not expecting to go back to Baltimore.  When asked if the comments are as controversial up in Kansas City as they are here in Baltimore, Stewart responded, "he's a very kind of free willing kind of guy like that.   He's not on the field a bunch, so he just says what he wants."  As far as the rest of the team goes, "they are a confident bunch, but the other guys are saying it the right way."

The Game 3 of the series has been postponed to tomorrow due to weather.
