WJZ-TV's Mark Viviano Previews ALCS Game 4

Mark Viviano from WJZ-TV talks to The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora regarding the Orioles ALCS playoff series. The Orioles are currently three games behind the Kansas City Royals in the ALCS. They are preparing to play game four today and are trying to hold on. When discussing what it comes down to Viviano says, "it's a pitch to pitch reality. There's no sense of panic but I know the fans are."

Kansas City being up 3-0, their intension is to go out and win. They are not taking being up as a definite win. "Both sides know it's about what the next pitch." The Orioles stadium was off the chain with excitement and the cheering could be heard miles away. Viviano is in Kansas City and Scott said it appeared the Royals stadium didn't appear to be as crazy. Viviano said, "that place was dead. When they came ahead, that's when you started to feel it. This [Orioles stadium] place was lively. It didn't reach the fever pitch that I expected." It's been 29 years of not being in the playoffs and "they are riding the magic carpet ride, waiting for the ball to drop."

Jason brought up the role Adam Jones plays on this Orioles team. Discussing whether he has met with the press or not, Viviano stated he took interviews at his locker after the game. "He is the face of the organization, when they are down he has to answer for it and he does. He is the Joe Flacco of the Orioles." Scott added that is seems the team has been so close yet so far away and it has been frustrating. They have played 6 playoff games and every game has been within one run. "Adam jones even said I know it's hard to watch this, it's hard to play it. To play and be a fan in October can be frustrating," said Viviano.
