Jerry Coleman Checks In From Owings Mills

Jerry Coleman joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to talk about the Ravens game against the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday and the upcoming Steelers game. Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith will be out for a few weeks for a mid-foot sprain.  "You wonder how long they are going to be without their cornerback," stated Coleman.  Smith being out is a significant blow for the Ravens as he is arguably the team's top defender.   With the trade deadline coming up Coleman says, "they sure could use a cornerback right now. Harbaugh says he has no information.   I'm sure their looking around."

Coleman was at the press conference and he stated that Harbaugh said he still can't comment on Steve Smith play.  Harbaugh said his opinion is obvious, but he still thinks that didn't decide the game.  Looking at the game and feeling how upset the Ravens fans are, the guys asked Coleman what his thoughts were about the Steve Smith call and he said, "I can understand why, but it was the right call.  It was a terrific play by Steve Smith to break loose and make the play, but it was the right call."
Torrey smith was taken out early in the game when he was hit in the head and had to undergo some concussion tests.  He was taken back to the locker room and the doctor looked him over, "he went through all the protocol and clearance with the doctors, that's why he was standing on the sidelines with his helmet on.  It's amazing how some guys can recover from concussions."   Practicing this week will determine if he will be ready for the game against Pittsburgh.
