Man Gets Life Sentence For Killing Ex-Girlfriend
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A man convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend in her Berwyn Heights in 2012 has been sentenced to life plus 10 years in prison.
Thirty-seven-year-old Andrew Kugler of College Park was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 36-year-old Amber Schinault. He was sentenced Friday in Prince George's County District Court.
At trial, prosecutors showed evidence that Kugler was depressed from his breakup with Schinault, crawled through a basement window and slit her throat.
