Man Arrested In Edgewood Fatal Stabbing Of 15-Year-Old Girl

EDGEWOOD, Md. (WJZ) -- Family in mourning. A 15-year-old girl is dead after she is stabbed in her in Edgewood home. Her alleged killer is now behind bars and facing murder charges.

Rochelle Ritchie has the latest on the tragic stabbing.

Deputies with the Harford County Sheriff's Office say the man not only killed the 15-year-old girl, but also stabbed her twin sister and her mother, who both survived.

Ivan Enrique Molina Bustamante, 21, sits in jail charged in a triple stabbing that left a 15-year-old girl dead.

"We don't know the motive right now, but we do know this wasn't a random incident," said Cpl. Warren Brooks, Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say Bustamante took his rage out on the girl's twin sister, stabbing her and their mother.

"The 15-year-old at Shock Trauma was treated and released. The 39-year-old, who was in surgery last night, she was released this morning from surgery and she is now in stable condition," said Brooks.

Police have not released the names of the victims, but close friends of the twin who died say they are in disbelief.

"Since I moved away and I went to Elkton, I haven't seen them in awhile. This is actually my first time coming out here. I was going to go say hi to them today," a family friend said.

Neighbors tell WJZ they never heard of any problems at the home--until that night.

"The lady upstairs, she heard the kids crying. And the husband came home, he started hollering and called 911," one neighbor said.

Neighbors tell WJZ the tragic stabbing happened behind a third floor apartment door. You can see a blood stain right next to the doorknob. As you go down the steps, all along the wall you can see multiple blood stains--even as you round the corner to the last flight.

Deputies from the Harford County Sheriff's Office were called to the home just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Inside, they found the three females with multiple stab wounds.

It took less than 24 hours for police to find their suspect. Bustamante was just two miles from the scene of the crime when he was arrested.

"He is now in our criminal investigation division being interviewed by detectives," Brooks said.

Right now, police do not have a motive for the stabbings. The surviving twin was treated and released from the hospital. Her mother remains in serious condition.

Police say there was no forced entry at the home.
