WEATHER BLOG: Sunday

Cold front will allow for clouds to linger during the first half of the day and then the sun will break out this afternoon. Most of this morning and early afternoon we will see a decent amount of clouds. High pressure will move into West Virginia later today to allow for the clouds to decrease. This cold front will not shift in colder air but actually warmer air as it is more of a wind shift front. Highs will be about 5-7 degrees warmer today. Tomorrow the high pressure will move off the New Jersey coast. Our highs around 60 degrees tomorrow.

Tuesday high pressure will still be in control of the region as a cold front will move through the Ohio Valley. Temperatures continue to rise into the lower 60s on Tuesday. Meanwhile Monday into Wednesday we see a coastal system stay off shore and recurve away from the US coastline. It is a weak system but it will enhance the moisture in our region. This may cause a shower in the morning hours on Wednesday but most of the region will remain dry. We will leave it as a mention at this time. At this time the cold front will be blasting through the Mid-Atlantic and move through the I-95 corridor by the late afternoon hours. This will allow for one last warm day for a long time in our region. We could see a spotty shower again in the afternoon hours but again the region will remain dry. Thursday will be much colder and dry. Friday a norther piece of energy will swing through the Northeast and we could see a few flurries in the Poconos. Saturday high pressure will build into the region to give us a sunny but cold day. Then Sunday and into Monday we are still looking at our first shot of seeing a winter-like storm across the region. Euro ensemble mean along
the the 00z Euro operational both suggest a coastal low forming with plenty of moisture streaming in from the south.

With high pressure to the north cold air will be locked into our region to allow for wintry weather. At this time the best chance of seeing wintry weather will be west of I-95 as being most likely for snow.
