BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell has joined 20 other state attorneys general in opposing Maryland's gun law.

The brief from the attorneys general was filed this past week in U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia.

The Maryland law adds 45 guns to a list of illegal assault weapons and prohibits handgun magazines with more than 10 rounds.

Other attorneys general joining in the brief were from West Virginia, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.
