MLB Hot Stove Update With Jason Catania
Jason Catania of Bleacher Report joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora to update the MLB hot stove which has been starting to heat up after a couple of signings and a blockbuster trade. The first thing that was brought up was the monster contract extension that the Miami Marlins and Giancarlo Stanton have agreed upon. Jason was surprised that the team with such a low payroll could hand out such a payday. "It is surprising. When you have the team that finished last or second to last in payroll last season, giving the largest contract we've seen in North American sports history."
There are a lot of rumors surrounding the hometown Orioles, Jeremy asked Jason what moves the fans can expect Baltimore to make including the possibility of Nick Markakis leaving the team. "I think Markakis still their priority at this point. I think both sides want to get it, but there's sort of a little game of chicken, which side might cave… I still think that it will end up getting done."
