Jerry Coleman Checks In From The Castle

Jerry Coleman joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora to discuss the Ravens coming off their bye week. Baltimore is rested and ready to take on the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. The bye has given the Ravens time to regroup and heal some injuries, as they are in the middle of a very tight divisional race in the AFC North. The players did have some good time off to recharge as Coleman said "They were basically gone from Monday to Monday." They were back in Owings Mills today and they "Do have an extra day of practice this week." The Coaches also had a few days of down time towards the end of last week.

There was a lot of self-evaluation going on as well. "Steve Smith said he watched film on his time off and said he needs to step it up." There was hope that in the off time, it would be enough time for some injuries to heal but Coleman says, "Reid is still out with a broken hand and Campanaro with a thigh injury."  The Ravens are not saying if anyone else will be out as they have a few more days left of practice to make any final decisions for Monday.

This game against the Saints is a big one. The Ravens are gunning for a playoff spot and this could be a telling game for them. To win this game Coleman says, "They are going to need to hold onto the football and keep the Saints off the field. The Saints have the #2 offense. The defense is really struggling right now, so as long as they keep Drew Brees off the field, they have a good chance to win."
