Jim Henderson, The Voice Of The Saints, Previews Monday Nights Matchup
Jim Henderson, the longtime voice of the New Orleans Saints joined The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora to discuss Monday night football match-up against the Ravens. The Saints are currently tied for first place in the NFC South division with a troubling 4-6 record. They are tied with the struggling Atlanta Falcons. New Orleans has long been a force to be reckoned with, but they are really struggling this year. Henderson says, "They lost first 2 games of the season. They have had a very disheartening season to date."
The Saints lost their game last week to the Cincinnati Bengals and he says "There was nothing positive coming out of this game… Fans are a little frustrated, in particularly in last week's game." Henderson stated it appeared that every time the fans got excited and the Saints would do something good, they would give up the football. He also said "They never let the fans get in the game. They were constantly disappointed." The other disappointment of the game was when the Saints fan so rudely ripped the football out of a female Bengals fans hands. Jim responded to that saying, "That was really disappointing. I thought the lady handled it wonderfully… Obviously, that Saints fan is really getting a lot of flak from the Saints fans."
Although the Saints offense is second in the league, they are really struggling due to their lack of defense. The defense has been the weakest part of the team, "Giving up about 10 more points per game than last year." Also killing the team is the fact that they are ranked dead last in the NFL for punt return average. He says "We are coming up on 2 years since the Saints have returned a punt for a touchdown." If the Ravens can rule the defense and special teams, they just may leave with a win at the Superdome.
This will be the toughest game left for the Ravens. They will have a pretty easy schedule after this game. Hopefully, they can keep their strong force in their division, but they have to stay consistent.
