Rabbi Fired After Accusations Of Spying On Sacred Bath

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- The rabbi accused of putting a camera in a sacred bath at a Georgetown synagogue has been fired.

Kesher Israel Orthodox Synagogue terminated Dr. Barry Freundel's contract. He has been suspended without pay since the day of his arrest in October.

Freundel, who taught at Towson University, is accused of putting hidden cameras inside the sacred bath to spy on female congregants.

He has pleaded not guilty to voyeurism charges.

He is due back in court in January.
