WEATHER BLOG: Beautiful Day For Some Football

The slow moving low pressure system will continue to sit and spin over New England today allowing for the northwest flow and chilly conditions.

We will climb a few degrees warmer today than we were yesterday temperatures rising by the end of the day. This will bring our high temperatures around the 40 degree mark.

We will see more sunshine today than we did yesterday as moisture decreases and remains to our north. It will be breezy at times today with winds gusting to 20 kts out of the northwest.

As we go into tonight we will see partly cloudy skies with the winds calming down.

Tomorrow we will see a warmer day with high temperatures in the middle 40s with clouds and sun.

High pressure will be centered over the Tennessee Valley tomorrow which will continue one more day with northwest flow.

As the high pressure shifts off the east coast by Monday we will see our wind flow shift out of the southwest aloft. At the lower levels the flow will be very weak out of the west so we will not see as much mixing.

This will prevent the warmer air to mix down from aloft resulting in temperatures reaching only the middle 40s, just as Sunday will be.

Tuesday we will fully entrenched in the southerly flow as a warm front moves north of our region. A low pressure system moving through the Great Lakes will bring the warm front northward but along with the warmer weather also comes the chance of showers.

The best chance of showers will be in the afternoon.

The showers will last into the first half of Tuesday night as the cold front swings through. Wednesday will be cooler and breezy behind the cold front as our winds shift back out of the west.

High temperatures will top off in the lower 40s.
