WEATHER BLOG: Sunday

The rain will arrive by mid-to-late afternoon then come to an end later tonight with clouds breaking tomorrow. Not much in the way of storminess next week as a strong high pressure center bleeds across the Plains and into the Northeast. Progressively cooler weather expected behind the front, however.

—One potential feature of note could bring a bit of snow to Virginia on Tuesday, but model guidance is less than inspiring regarding consistency. As such, confidence is low… and until the modeling is in better agreement we will hold off on explicitly forecasting the "s" word.

—The weather pattern changes late next week with ridging over the Bahamas and troughiness in the Plains. With this development, the next storm system arriving next weekend should be mainly rain. That said, some snow or ice may be had at the onset. Details are fuzzy given the time frame we're considering.
