"I wasn't expecting to have a New Year's Eve baby," Dorthalina said.

That's because Zion's due date is more than two weeks away. He came early or right on time to ring in the new year.

"The best thing ever for first year," Dorthalina said.

Zion joins two brothers and a sister.

And over at Sinai Hospital, they're celebrating another bundle of joy, 9 lbs. 1 oz., Lyne Charegho. Lynn is the first baby for her family. Both mom and baby girl are doing well. Mom recently moved to the U.S. from Morocco.

It was a busy day for Sinai doctors and nurses as they had six New Year's babies so far.

In Anne Arundel County, it was another baby boy. Jennifer and Thomas Haslup, of Pasadena, welcomed their son at 5:01 a.m. at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He weighs 7 lbs., 9 oz.
