Ravens' Fans Show Support On Ice

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --- Playoff bound! All week long the fans have been painting the town purple.

WJZ's Tracey Leong has the story.

Ravens fans and cheerleaders are preparing for Saturday's game, showing their support on land and ice. On New Year's Day, they did it with a winter tradition.

Poe trading in his cleats for ice skates. Ravens cheerleaders taking a break from the gridiron to spread team spirit at the McKelden Square Rink.

"When I see the kids, my face lights up," Baltimore Ravens cheerleader, Stephanie B. said. "When I see their faces light up, it's just a wonderful feeling."

Fans lace up for a chance to rub wings with their good luck charm.

"I think I'm a littler superstitious," Ravens fan, Jerome Sherman said. "Last time I came out and supported them they won the Super Bowl."

"Try to skate without hurting myself," Ravens fan, Sharon Harris said.

All week the Ravens have been painting the town purple and what better way to do it than on ice.

Cheerleaders and Poe showing everyone how to play like a Raven.

"I feed off that energy from those fans," Stephanie B. said. "It's wonderful when you can make someone's day."

And looking forward to the next generation of fans.

"I know these kids who are out here right now are going to be just as talented as we are and I hop they grow up and be phenomenal in their life," Ravens cheerleader Melvin I. said.

All looking forward to the playoffs.

"Everyone is so excited about the game on Saturday and let's hope we bring home a victory," Stephanie B. said.

"I'm predicting Ravens win, 24-17," Sherman said.

If you missed your chance to get Ravenized, there are several flock parties scheduled for Friday with more appearances by the cheerleaders and former players.
