Ravens Fans Gather At Flock Parties Across City

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Less than 24 hours until the Ravens face-off against their rival the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The team is making final preparations for their AFC wild card battle, and fans are bursting with Ravens pride.

Christie Ileto has more on all the fan excitement that is building for Saturday.

Seven Nation Army. It's the rally cry for Purple Friday, and Connor knows it by heart. It's the last Purple Friday pow-wow before Saturday's playoff game.

A parade of cheerleaders, Poe and retired Ravens hit the streets to pump up fans.

"We've got some of the best fans in the NFL, and I'm just appreciative that we do have such fans," said former Ravens defensive end Michael McCrary

From spray painted cars to the purple block parties around town, fans are psyched.

"I love it! The Ravens all day. My team," said Monique LaFavors.

Faithful fans aren't shy about their Purple Pride, either.

"I just got the beads from the upstairs, then I have my purple scarf," Darlene Blackwell said.

For others, it's a post-holiday season tradition.

"We love when the Ravens make the playoffs to extend the celebration. We've done it every year that they go to the playoffs," said Kellie Mason.

"I think we need to run the ball consistently and Flacco needs to play at the top of his game," former Ravens running back Jamal Lewis said.

It's all chalk talk for Jamal Lewis, but fans have one thing on the brain: winning.

"I'm going to Pittsburgh tomorrow to represent Baltimore because we're going all the way," one fan said.

This is the sixth time in the last seven years that the Ravens have made the playoffs.
