***Freezing Rain Advisory Until 2PM Today for Garrett County - http://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=lwx&wwa=freezing rain advisory

This high is creating a classic cold airdamming set up across the eastern US and will keep cold air in place today.

* Precipitation will move up into our area from west and southwest today. Arrival time will be 7am to 9am, sooner west and southwest of the City. There can be some sleet mixing in with the rain at the onset this morning. Areas away from the City will be colder and will likely see freezing rain until early afternoon. There can be some slippery spots north and west of the City.

* Strong warm-air advection in the lower levels and difluent flow in the upper levels will provide large-scale upward motion tonight. Thus, expect rain at times through tonight with temperatures rising into the low 50s later tonight. By sunrise Sunday, low pressure at the surface will be over southern Ontario with a cold front stretched from the upper Ohio Valley to the central Gulf Coast.

* This front will push eastward along with an upper-level trough during the day. These features will provide additional forcing with widespread rain during the day Sunday. Rain along the cold front can be briefly heavy. Ahead of the front, there will be a surge of milder air, and temperatures will rise Saturday night into Sunday, reaching the middle 60s Sunday afternoon.

* The cold front will move through late afternoon Sunday with colder air moving in Sunday night. Rain will end with the passage of the cold front and rainfall totals could be 1-1.5". A soaking rain event, but not one that will cause widespread flooding.

* Low pressure will intensify Sunday night over Southeastern Canada and generate a gusty west to northwest wind Sunday night into Monday pulling a much colder air mass into the Northeastern US

* It will be sharply colder Monday with steady or slowly falling temperatures through the day. Winds Monday will gust 35-40 mph, with perhaps a peak gust or two 40-45 mph. AccuWeather RealFeel temperatures will be in the upper teens to low 20s Monday.

* A fast moving Alberta clipper will speed into the northeastern US Tuesday. Areas north of Baltimore can see some snow or flurries from this system. Beyond that, the coldest air of the season thus far will be with us through the end of the week.
