WEATHER BLOG: Quick Burst Of Snow Possible

A few more showers will be possible this evening with conditions drying out overnight. Skies will also clear and cooler air will move in behind the cold front as winds also pick up. Temps on Monday will actually fall throughout the day, rather than rise. We will start the day out with temps in the upper 30s with sunshine and fall into the 20s by dinner-time. Bustery winds throughout the day will make it feel even colder. Monday night and Tuesday a fast-moving clipper system will move across the southern Great Lakes and into the mid-Atlantic. Clouds will quickly overspread the region Monday night and models show light snow stretching into portions of northern Maryland first thing Tuesday morning. Light snow will continue, especially north of the city through Tuesday afternoon. The main concern with this system will be the speed and subsequent timing of the snow, as well as the southern extent of the snow. We will have a few details to iron out, but for now it appears that there will be an impact for the early morning commute on Tuesday north of the city.
