Ravens Nation Confident This Playoff Purple Friday

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- So close, they can taste it. Saturday afternoon, the Baltimore Ravens will try to extend their playoff run beyond New England.

Baltimore is holding its breath, as the Ravens and the Patriots get ready to face-off in Foxborough.

Rick Ritter reports fans are getting primed for Saturday's big game.

Hundreds of fans were out Friday night. They say they're trying not to look past New England, but the Ravens are just one win away from the AFC Championship game.

Less than 24 hours to go. The Ravens are one win away from a trip to the AFC Championship, and Baltimore fans are fired up.

At Pappas in Cockeysville, it's wall to wall with purple fever, and a visit from the cheerleaders and Ravens greats Jamal Lewis and Adalius Thomas.

"I think their chances are great. They go in there, play Baltimore football and just don't make mistakes," the former Ravens running back Lewis said.

"You can't turn the ball over and you have to create turnovers," former Ravens linebacker Thomas said.

The party shifted from Pappas to Hightopps. Fans say this January is starting to feel a lot like 2013.

"I think the Ravens are peaking at the right time again," said Terry Beck.

"They turn into a completely different monster. And yeah, it has the same exact feel," said Joe Papparotto.

At the Windsor Inn, fans were confident to say the least.

"At 7 o'clock, we're going to pop champagne!" one Ravens fan said.

"We're going to the Super Bowl. We're taking Brady down," said another.

Many were calm and collected--just like "January" Joe Flacco.

"I think we're alright. We got Joe. He's going to be killing it," said Matt Torr.

They believe that a business trip to Foxborough Saturday belongs to the Ravens.

"There's no reason why they can't beat the Patriots tomorrow. They've done it before," said Papparotto.

When the Ravens won the Super Bowl two years ago, many remember they knocked off the Patriots in Foxborough in the AFC Championship game.
