Checking In From College Park With Chris Knoche
Chris Knoche, color analyst for the Maryland Terrapins Sport Radio Network, joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora to recap the Terps win over Rutgers and to preview the rest of the Big Ten schedule. Maryland has had a much improved defense during the 2014-2015 season, Scott asked Chris if that's been a key to a winning season for the team. "Yeah and that seems to be the formula, that and getting to the free throw line a lot. All of those things have served this team well and they have rebounded the ball much better since they've been in the league. They've gotten to the free throw line all year long, and for the most part they've defended."
After switching leagues from the ACC to the Big Ten, the Terps have had to adjust to life in the Midwest. "I like the fact that you're seeing a lot of university towns, the basketball programs really matter at these schools across the board. I think that's really really great. We're still sort of experiencing a little learning curve in terms of officials, where you go and what you do. But I mean ultimately sometimes when it's twelve below out as it was in Illinois, it doesn't matter what you do or a place to go because you're not going there."
