5 Pit Bulls Rescued From Md. Woods

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County police rescued five pit bulls abandoned in a wooded area in Glen Burnie tethered to posts without any food or water.

Police say the dogs were freezing and starving, and that one dog was already dead and frozen to the ground.

The Anne Arundel County Gang Unit discovered the dogs while executing a search warrant on the 7800 block of Freetown Road in Glen Burnie.

The dogs range in age from 10 months to years old, and have been named Hurricane, Blizzard, Whirlwind, Tsunami and Tornado.
