Man Charged With Taking Girl From Md. To Ohio For Sex

BALTIMORE (AP) -- An Ohio man has been charged with taking a 15-year-old Maryland girl to Ohio to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Forty-two-year-old Michael L. Fischer of Toledo had an initial appearance in federal court in Baltimore on Wednesday. He was indicted and arrested in December; the indictment was unsealed on Wednesday.

According to the indictment, Fischer communicated with the girl online and by phone. Prosecutors say in August and September, he traveled from Ohio to Maryland to have sex with the girl.

Authorities say Fischer and another person took the girl to Fischer's home in Toledo. Prosecutors say Fischer engaged in sexual conduct with the girl during that time.
