Dozens Of Flights Canceled In Baltimore-Washington Region

BALTIMORE (AP/WJZ) -- Dozens of flights in the Baltimore-Washington region have been cancelled or delayed because of a winter storm.

The flight tracking service FlightAware shows that Reagan National Airport was the most affected of the region's three airports Monday morning, with 64 canceled outbound flights and 46 cancelled inbound flights.

For BWI, although no significant delays were reported, the airport expects some as the weather worsens in other parts of the country.

"There is currently a winter weather advisory in place for the region. Some airline flights may be delayed. Travelers should contact their airline for updated flight information," an alert on the website states.

More than a dozen flights to points north like Boston, Providence and New York has been canceled.

At Dulles International Airport, 21 outgoing flights and 13 incoming flights were cancelled. At Baltimore's airport, 17 outbound flights and 18 incoming flights were cancelled.

Across the Northeast corridor, more than 1,000 flights have been canceled because of a nor'easter that began moving in Monday morning.

Some parts of the Northeast could see up to 2 feet of snow. Washington is expected to get up to 4 inches, Baltimore could get 6, and western Maryland could see up to 10 inches.
