Report: Ravens Made Torrey Smith An Offer

BALTIMORE -- NFL Insider for CBS Jason La Canfora reported earlier today that the Ravens offered wide receiver Torrey Smith a 5-year $35 million contract with $19 million guaranteed before the season.

A $7 million a year deal is viewed as fair deal for the 26-year-old, 4-year receiver. That kind of money would be comparable to contracts for Eric Decker and Marques Colston and more than what Anquan Boldin, DeSean Jackson and Emmanuel Sanders had in 2014.

In 2014, Torrey had a career-high season with 11 touchdown receptions despite a career-low 767 receiving yards. Smith is a fan favorite and a constant presence in the community.
