Under Armour Acquires Two Fitness Apps

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)--Under Armour is breaking out its checkbook to build what it calls the world's largest online health and fitness community.

According to our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, Under Armour Inc. is acquiring two companies that make fitness apps--similar to the one Under Armour rolled out last month.

Under Armour says they acquired San Francisco-based MyFitnessPal for $475 million and Copenhagen-based Endomondo for $85 million.

The move will cost about $560 million. With the purchases, Under Armour says its online fitness community now has more than 120 million global participants.
