Baltimore Police Off. Charged In Assault, Sex Offense

PASADENA, Md. (WJZ) -- A Baltimore police officer was charged in the physical assault of a woman in Pasadena, Md.

Anne Arundel County police responded to a call in the 900 block of 12th Street around 12:55 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9.

A woman told officers she had been assaulted inside her residence by a suspect she knew, identifying him as Wayne Alfred Adams, who is a member of the Baltimore Police Department.

The woman told police she and Adams had argued twice that day and it ended with him allegedly spitting on her and physically removing her from a bathroom. She said she feared for her safety.

Adams, 42, of the same address where the assault occurred, was arrested and taken to Eastern District where his supervisors were notified. They responded to the station and his weapons were taken and stored for safekeeping.

Adams is charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense.

He was initially held on $40,000 bond, but has been released.
